Help with cable installation CPU+L.COOLER+FANS+CASE

First time build so i'd really appreciate this,so if we could do it like this ill post a screen of the cable with a number tag or a letter and all you do is take this screen of the ASUS maximus vii hero Motherboard :

Highlight the part where the cable goes with its number/letter,(I know im asking a lot here)

A-lets start with the Corsair Hydro H80i (3 Cables) :

Cable number 1..ill use just a SATA cable from it and straight to the PSU right ?

D-The Cables/cable that come with the Case,i still haven't got the case yet but ill be getting the COOLMASTER COMOS SE and as far as i know there should be a cable for the ON/OFF,USB board to connect to the MB,so where does that go ?

and ill be doing the SDD/HDD myself (LOL).

Alright, lemme take a look here.

1) You are absolutely correct regarding where that first cable goes, it's just a SATA line for power.

The second cable is just a fan header. You have one right below the big heatsink that says 'Hero' on it. It has four pins and is labeled "Cha Fan 3," which means case fan three. You want to plug the watercooler's fan controller into the fan header that says "CPU FAN" right above the heatsink on the middle top of the board. it doesn't matter that it has four pins, it works just the same.

I'm not going to highlight where they are for you, because this is something you should figure out. It's not hard to plug everything into a motherboard, and it's good to figure out how everything works. If you...

You do have a manual that tells you where the fan headers are.

Yes, you need a sata power cable from the psu to power the H80i.
For the cpu cooler, you plug the 4 pin plug to the CPU fan header. Top of the board.
The third cable is for plugging into the USB 2.0 header at the bottom of the board.

fans goes onto the closest fan headers. They are typically labeled CHA_FAN#


In your motherboard accessories, you should have a Q-connector which look like this:

I'd really appreciate it if you or anyone else could take their time and mark the spots on that MB screen tagging them with the Number/Letters that i have set for them because im really really slow with this and don't wanna end up doing a mess out of it since every part i got cant be replaced if it got damaged or anything (not for some time) so please highlighting the MB screen would be the best way to do this considering how a noob i am with this.

If you get stuck, look at the manual for your motherboard... it WILL have a diagram in there with every header labeled.

That third cable goes to a USB 2.0 header - you have several of them on the bottom of the motherboard, and they're labeled. Notice that the cable has one hole blanked out, and the header is missing one pin. That's so you can line it up properly.

2) Like I said, I'm not going to highlight the fan headers for you. They're easy to find what you're looking for, and you have one right below the VRM heatsink that says "Hero", and two on top, along with two along the right side of the motherboard and one on the bottom.

3) The CPU cable should be fairly easy, come on dude. There are only two things on that motherboard that it could possibly plug into, right? And one of them is wayyyyy too big. The CPU power is always going to be right by the VRMs... which are under the big heatsink right by your CPU bracket. The hpower plug is on the top of the motherboard, just in from the left hand side. It's keyed, so if it doesn't go in, don't force it, just turn it around.

4) The cables that come with the case are going to be the biggest pains in your rear. The USB is going to be fairly easy, it goes onto the pins at the bottom of the motherboard - they're labeled.

As for the power, reset, and LEDs, those are going to be a pain. There is going to be a bank of pins, one of the ones along the bottom, (I believe the ones to the very far right, or the ones right next to that.) The power line is going to have a positive and negative connection that for it to actually turn the computer on, will have to be plugged in correctly.

Look at your motherboard manual. it will have a diagram in it showing exactly the layout of the front panel pins and where you need to plug what things in.

Anyways, that should be everything. :)

Building a computer is like playing with legos for adults. It's actually even easier than that, because everything is keyed differently, so you physically cannot plug it in in a way that would damage anything unless you got out a chisel, and if you're using a chisel on your computer, damaging it from plugging something in wrong should be the least of your worries. :p
