For the computer I'm building, I want to know how much space is recommended in an SSD for my OS (Win 8.1). I've heard it improves speed when starting up the computer if it's installed onto the SSD, so that's why I want to include one in my build. If anyone has any recommendations, I'd like to hear them. Also, if they could be at a reasonable price, that would be great.

More about : recommended space ssd

If you are only putting the OS and minor stuff on it, the 120g should be fine. Are you going to use a secondary drive to store other stuff? Prices are getting so cheap, you may think about a 256g or 500g

yeah a 120gb is minimum as windows on a 32gb will fail. 60gb is barely enough space. they have a samsung 250gb ssd going for around 129$ while the 128gb is going for 80$. A ssd is greatly improve speed and cause things to load in seconds instead of minutes

Yeah, I'm only planning on putting the OS and some applications on the SSD. The other things are going to be put on my 1 TB HDD. Thanks guys.

My 120GB has the OS and ALL applications apart from games on it.
Currently ~61GB used.

Games/Music/Photo/video live elsewhere.
