ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 - Standby Light On, No fans when trying to turn on

First time I've built a personal computer but I have built many before for my IT job. I got an ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 with an AMD FX8350 Black Edition. After putting in just 1 stick of RAM, the CPU, the onboards (power switch/reset switch/audio/and LEDs) and then the 4 pin and 24 pin, the standby power light on the motherboard lights up but after trying to turn it on, nothing happens, the fans don't even start up (CPU fan and 1 case fan). Tried switching around the Power Switch and Reset button and switching the way they are plugged in. Still nothing, tried the PS on a different computer, it worked, tried 2 other Power Supplies, and its the same thing, doesn't even turn the fans on but the standby power light comes on. Tried to temp short the power switch and nothing. CPU looks fine and all pins in tact and in place, tried a different RAM stick, everything I seem to try seems to come back to nothing. Any other suggestions?

  1. Do you have both the 24 pin and the 4/8 power connectors in nice and snug? did you use the proper standoffs and all screwed in snug? (might have a short), I'd pull the guts and bench it, have a guide that might help here:
  2. Yup, checked multiple times, even tried to take it out and put it on the static bag and tried it and it didnt work
  3. Do you have a different PSU you could try (sounding like a dead mobo or CPU)
  4. Yup, this is actually the third PSU I've tried. I had thought the first was DOA

Sounds like somethings dead - might RMA mobo and CPU
