So my friend is a complete nub when it comes to pc's and wants to build a pc. I helped with my little knowledge I have to come up with this build. He would like to spend in the $900 area. Ca you guys please tell me if this is good or not? Thanks in advance.

Aside from the rest of the parts.....that RAIDMAX PSU needs to be taken off the list. Completely, do not buy.....if you already have bought it throw it in the trash and buy something else.

You have an OC capable CPU and a non OC capable motherboard.

Raidmax are really crap power supplies - on tier 5 of http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html - Repace Immediately!!!

Try a Seasonic 520, XFX 550 or Antec HCG 520M instead

It would OK, but not good. Try an ASRock Z87 EXtreme 4 or Asus Z97-A

If he were to get the asrock z87 extreme 4, what would he have to change to make the price still around $950? He has budget of that so I don't know what he would have to sacrifice to keep it in that range
