I plan to get a new pc in about 3-4 months. However, I want to get a new graphics card now. I'm looking at the GTX 750 TI Super Clocked and was wondering if it will work with a motherboard that has a pci-e x16 (version 1.0)? I was told that 3.0 are backwards compatible. I run only one monitor and it's at 1920x1080. Will it bottleneck it too bad? I'm currently using a XFX Radeon HD 6750 1gb pcie x16 2.1 and I can play most games on med settings. Would this 750 ti still perform better even though it will be in a version 1.0 slot? Thanks

Solution
I would say that you will as a 750ti is designed to game at 1080p, no more so it will have issues as that is what you are planning to game at and seeing as the link between the GPU and CPU is that much narrower, there will be issues

The 750Ti will be bottlenecked by the PCI-e slot and as a result, it will perform poorly, so I wouldn't be surprised if you lose half of the performance of the card as a result. As for whether it will perform better, I am not sure
