ok, so i've gone on a spree of updating each little component of my computer to the latest stuff, and i'm looking for a BIOS that will work with my XFX 9800GT. i have heard of several versions of this card, versions with one 6-pin connector, versions with no 6-pin. I've double checked to make sure they were all 9800GT, and not 9800GTX/GTX+/GX2. My card's the version with no 6-pin adapter, and i'm afraid if i flash the BIOS with the 6-pin version's card, and I can find no details of which version it is on all the sites i've found bios on, that i'll brick the card. I've looked through every detail of this thing, and instead of being the green version, like other companies would do, it's actually a modified version of the original 9800GT, same clocks and all just modified to run without the 6-pin. As I am unable to find any way to confirm this, other than msi afterburner (which did confirm the clock speeds bieng the 600/900 of the non-green 9800GT), can anyone find me a BIOS for the non 6-pin version of XFX 9800GT? at least find like, a true nvidia bios or something that works with this card. I want the newest/best performance VBIOS I can get for this thing. I started this little update search when i couldn't hit 20 FPS in battlefield 3, 1280x720. my PS3 has lower spec than this PC ffs! well, GPU wise, at least. G92 based GPU vs. G60 based GPU. 1.9GHz dual core vs. (2.5 GHz?) quad core. wellthe bios thing isn't really for extra speed i just want to be as up to date as I can with this card. up-to-date drivers and sysBIOS now I need up-to-date VBIOS.

The 210 is useless as a gaming card, at least the 9800GT was good for it's time, and can still be good for many games. Depending on the rest of your system it may be a waste to upgrade past it. I had a 9800GT I got used and it ran things pretty well, WOW was pretty much maxed out, Skyrim played fine, running on a system with an Intel Q9650 CPU. Lasted for a few years till it died, considering I got the card for $40 it was pretty much free over the lifetime of the thing.
your best bet is to leave it alone. It is very rare to need to update the GPU's bios unless your OCing the card through a bios editor. IF you flash the wrong Bios you could Brick the GPU and then you will need to purchase a new card.

JUst let it be. If you want more performance then OC it or get a new one. The 9800 GT's were just a rebadge of the 8800GT and no major updates were installed till the 9800GTX and GTX+'s. then they got a die shrink with a few extra MHz of core clock. the GPU chip with the die shrink was a G92b chip.

ok great to know :D
I bought the 9800GT off of a friend for 30$, not a bad deal the normal price for a used 9800GT is $40-$80 according to sites like E-Bay and Amazon :D
EDIT: oh and when i got the thing it was dusty, so i sat for two or more hours unscrewing every little screw and getting every little crumb of dust out of it and now, half a year later, it's still not even got a thin layer XD. it shows glitches in Kombustor on even the smallest overclocks but lol whatever
