Hi Everyone,

I just picked up a 50 inch Samsung 4K UHDTV today and I'm setting it up now. I can't get the native 4K resolution to go up above 30Hz in the Nvidia control panel.

I'm using an HDMI cord. My computer can handle it so I'm stuck. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Unfortunately HDMI is falling behind on the 4K bandwagon, it's complicated to get it to run 4k over 30Hz and the results aren't as good as DisplayPort. Have a look here:

Since its a 4K TV, it's safe to assume it only has HDMI as inputs, correct? You're pretty much stuck with 30Hz, it is not worth it to buy adapter and converter, the result would probably be like 35-40Hz like the link I gave above.

EDIT: Did a bit more research into this, I suggest do a driver update on your GPU, perhaps it's not the latest version that supports HDMI 2.0 yet, and perhaps try a different HDMI cable.

Dang, I thought my GPU had HDMI 2.0. Where can you get a straight up diplayport cable? I guess it's not something you can pick up at bestbuy?

I checked out the model of his 4K TV, unfortunately only 4 ports of HDMI, no DisplayPort.

Hi thanks for the info, sorry it took so long to reply. I ended up returning the 4k TV (was already using a highspeed hdmi cable and the latest drivers). oh well, no big deal, I'l just end up getting a 1080p one and run it at 60fps when I don't feel like using my 144hz monitor. Thanks!
