Would two msi 760 gtx 4gb twin frozr be a solid pair of gpu's to run any game at a high fps rate? Also run a 4k display in max resolution? The setup would run me about 550$ however between the two would be 8gb of memory. I understand that is not the most important factor but any suggestions would be appreciated. Im trying to stay less than 550$.

4k 760? Nope at least 780 ti for 4k even 780 ti may dip hard in that res.. 760 is for like 1440x900 1600x900 high-ultra playable fps.

I would disagree with your power assessment of the 760. The 760 is a re-branded 670 that is completely capable of playing most games at 1080p on ultra settings with fps in the 50s, just turn off AA. You are underselling the card really hard.

That said- no sli 760 is not going to be very usable at 4k. Another point of clarification, when you have a multiple GPU set up, the amount of VRAM is equal to the lowest amount between the cards. So 2 4gb cards in SLI will have 4gb of Vram, not 8. It is incorrect to think of SLI in that way.

A 780 ti would be a better starting place for 4k. should be relatively close in price, what a $100 more for the ti or so.

The 760 can max out most games even at 1080p with very playable (50 - 100fps) frame rates.

For the record, witcher 2 is a game from 2011, and far cry is from 2012. Also, yes a 670 will run both of games at 50fps easily (I personally had that set up at that time) at 1080p. Metro last light gives similar performance.

Watch dogs is poorly optimized across the board, so like, whatever. Bf4 is going to be impacted hevaily by the cpu in multiplayer, but in single player, yes a 670 will give you 50 fps at 1080p.

I see you post all the time, and I know you've had a bad experience with your nvidia card recently. But spreading misinformation is just a waste of everybody's time.

Yea, like I literally just said. I'm aware you are having issues with your card. Your results are atypical. So spouting them as fact is misinformation.
