My computer turned off after playing a game and browsing

Ok I have a fx6300 hd7870 and the psu that runs everything is LC power 600W. After a little gaming I raged and went on the internet, after being on youtube for a few minutes my computer was in a beginning stage to when a BSOD would happen--if that makes any sense-- (I get BSODs close to commonly every month around 2 or 3, usually software issue or a virus) what I mean is my screen is black and I was just waiting for the blue screen to show me the error, but my computer just sits there working but nothing is showing up on the screen and it does not turn off either, I could not even turn my computer off by holding the power button, I had to go around the back and switch off my PSU and switch it back on. After I done this I still did not have anything showing up, it was just a black screen.

Problems I think that would have caused this:

- Few days ago I installed AMD catalyst control center and that AMD gaming evolved, maybe this is the issue.

-My power supply maybe the problem because it did not deliver enough power, so I got the worst case scenario where my monitor is not giving me any picture

Well, to start with that power supply is not very good. It's not on the tier 5 "Replace immediately" list but it's one step above it on Tom's tiered list of power supplies located here: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html . When you turn the power on are you hearing the PSU, case and cpu fans come on? Are you hearing any beeps? Is this a custom build or a pre-built system? If the fans are coming on can you pull the side panel off and see if the fans for your graphics card are running? Let me know.

Everything is running but it simply didn't want to show anything on screen, I don't believe it is the GPU since the fans on it was running. And no, no beeps so not hardware failure. Yes it is a custom build. Again everything was running CPU fan, GPU fan and case fan as well as PSU fan.

Are you able to go into the BIOS? Does the POST screen show when you first start the computer or is the display not working at all from the moment you power the unit up? If you have no post screen or any screens at all then it has to be a hardware issue and cannot be related to the operating system. If you have multiple memory modules installed, try removing one and powering up. If no success try putting it back and removing the other one etc. Make sure that if you only have two memory modules you leave whichever module is being used at the time in the #1 or A slot as per the notations on the board or in the manual.
