sound driver for HP G62 model

the mike in my earphones doesn't work in the HP laptop that i am using. is there a sound driver software that i need to download in order to enable the mike

Right click on the speaker icon in your system tray in the bottom right hand corner. Select recording devices. In the window that opens click on the recording tab. Find your microphone or device that should be listed and right click on it and select enable. If there is no devices listed here for you to enable then please post the brand and model of your headphones microphone device and the hardware information for your soundcard or adapter and I'll try to help you through it.
