it was anything but a "temporary fix"
lots of blocks had this issue, i have a full coverage EK x58 block and one of their supreme nickel plated CPU blocks that corroded
They blamed it on everything except their nickel plating process. ek sucks. how they got away with this without replacing everything is beyond belief

Didn't say it was a temporary fix..... it was a temporary glitch..... the fix was by no means temporary
They had made a change to their process which didn't work out too well .... the then switched to a more eepxnsive electroless method and the problem has not appeared since.

Anyone I knew who was affected (that is for flaking not discoloration) had their block replaced.
