So I am building a new pc and somebody decided to give me 2 One tb HDD, one 10,000 RPM HDD, and a 60 gb ssd. He told me to simply reformat them to use it for my new build. Currently i am stuck at the installation page (Windows 8.1) because it wouldnt let me reformat them. If there is a way to reformat them please answer ASAP or i will have no choice but to get a new HDD.

well, on the install screen, just before you start installing, delete all partions of the drive you wish to instal windows on, create a new partion for windows, and format that.

I get that issue sometime when I try to install a new OS. Are you installing using CD or through usb?
