This does not work like that.
A motherboard has a specific processor slot on which only a specific kind of processor can fit in
Example : Actual intel uses LGA 1150 which mean you need to match a LGA1150 Motherboard with a LGA 1150 CPU.
Tell us the complete name of your pentium and we will tell you what you can use in your motherboard,

You're doing a motherboard also, right? You'd need to, to go to any other new CPUs.
For a current model budget cpu, it's hard to beat a pentium g3220... for around $59. They are faster than even high end amd CPUs in single threaded games. You'd also need a 1150 socket mobo, also $59 for a good budget one. You'd also need DDR3 ram that is supported on newer hardware, 2gb to start with for $25, then add another 2gb later.
Minimum to move to new hardware, looking at $160

Hey, im just upgrading, and i do need a newer processor (Mine is a pentium D now).Anyone who can find a good processor for some simple black ops 1 on LOW.
I do got a GT610, 2GB of ram (im upgrading it soon to 4/6).
What is your exact motherboard? It might take a core 2 duo or even a core 2 quad, both of which are pretty cheap on ebay and would play BO1 on low no problem

Need the exact model of the motherboard, sir. Also, your graphics card is too slow to play pretty much anything... so you are effectively looking at upgrading graphics card as well. In fact, it is quite possible that your CPU is not so much of an issue here, but the GPU. At the very least get Nvidia GT730 (64 bit version), or even better GTX 750 / 750 Ti.

Manufacturer Product SerialNumber VersionDell Inc. 0HJ054 ..CN6986167C0FFA.
And, with that videocard, i do get 60fps on black ops 1, with medium, i didnt test high yet.
Minecraft runs at 40/50fps with all maxed, so the videocard is not my problem now.
That motherboard will not accept core 2 duo or quad, pentium D is the best it will take
