well, i can tell you what i would do in this situation, try to connect a cable an Ethernet, i have tp link wireless adapter and often, does that! i restart and its ok.... but for you try a cable if it is working you know its the adapters fault either hardware or software (drivers etc)
if you have a problem with an Ethernet cable then might your windows have a problem , try system restore or try to get back to a date when the system was functioning properly.
another thing it happened to me is that , in a big building there are so many wifis , so my wifi was getting ? confused ? :p i dont know! i changed the channel of the wifi , inside the router options ( 192.1.1.16 or something like that) and choose another channel anyway seem to me that all the people here had the default channel (1 ) and there were 10 networks on that channel, i put on the six channel, well i can tell you it was connecting in a blink !
in this cases you really have to try everything, hope i helped a little bit

Yes its worked. Since I had it. And redo what passwords exactly? Every other device is working so I dont think its that.

Well my computer gives a windows is not genuine message? Will it still let me repair and could it effect the wifi? I wasnt really sure how to fix it so I just ignored it for awhile so I doubt its that but I dunno....

You need to start with the very basics and see how much if anything is functional.

First try to ping your gateway address. This should be your router in your house. You can also try to open the router configuration page from a browser. If you can ping it but not browse I would suspect a firewall is somehow blocking you.

If both work you have good network drivers in your PC and you have good basic network connectivity.

Next try NSLOOKUP www.tomshardware.com

It doesn't really matter what ip it comes up with as long as it resolves. You can also try
nslookup www.tomshardware.com 8.8.8.8
If the first fails but the second works it mean you have a DNS server issue.

You can also try to ping 8.8.8.8

If all this fails I would be looking for restrictions in the router or the local pc firewall blocking you.

Of course I assume you have a way to verify that your internet connection is actually functional.

Try a physical connection to your internet, even if its not a practical reach for your computer it may be necessary to pin point the problem.
If you are able to get a internet connection then it is likely your wireless adapter has failed. ( these things dont last forever, even if they are brand spanking new.) If that does not work try a different machine, if that machine connects to the internet without an issue then it is your physical computer that has an issue and not your network.

I recommend buying a wireless card for your motherboards expansion slot.

Also are we talking about a laptop or a tower? That parts kind of important.

If other machines cannot connect to your wireless network you could buy a new modem/router and troubleshoot with it, you can always return the product if that does not solve your problem.

If you are "renting" hardware from your ISP they will replace it for free.

Remember not every solution is cheap, some are cheaper then others.
