Hello i have an Advent PC and it wont enter the bios.I press F2 and a pointer aroow appears but it just seems like it freezes as i cant move the arrow and no menus appear.

im trying to install a graphics card that is PCI-E and im getting no video on the monitor so i read that sometimes you have to change something in the bios

any ideas how to fix this so i can get in the bios

thanks

Removing the battery only resets the Bios, nothing else. You haven`t broken anything.
So, at this point, are you able to get to Bios?
If yes, the boot order might have been switched, and if you have multiple drives, the PC will try to access the windows files from a different drive.

If you can go into Bios, go to Boot order, and make sure the drive with the OS installed on it is first in the list.

Press F10 to save, and restart.

What CPU do you have? Does it have integrated graphics?
Also, what motherboard do you have? The Bios buttond is not always the same (it can be "F8", "Del", and maybe others).

Try to reset CMOS - remove the round battery that you can see in your motherboard for about a minute, and place it back in.

Start up the PC, and tell us what you get.
