I need to use my laptop as a wifi adapter for my desktop-please help

Hi there great people my wifi adapter for my desktop computer broke I want to connect my laptop to wifi and then connect my desktop to that but when I try to bridge the connections it says connect 2 LANs or something like that anyways can you please help
 
Solution
Plug your computer into the Ethernet port on your laptop go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and then right click on the wireless network and hit properties. Then click on the share tab and select "allow another network user to connect through this computer." then select the local area connection. on the destop computer go to the adapter settings then the local area connection and go to properties ipv4 then obtain an ip address automatically

Would a old DSL router work like if you plug both Ethernet cables into it

Could you tell me how to do this or do I just put them both the out ports or what?
