hi Folks, question

i have 4 system fans 3 x ARTIC Cooling ARTIC F9 PWM fans 1 normal system fan and my stock amd cooler :)

trying to get speed fan to control the speeds to help it run quietly when not in use, my motherboard is an M5A78l -M/usb3, gone into bios , the amd cool n quiet facility only gives me the option of normal, turbo, slient.

so would i need to disable this and let speed fan take over the running, is my motherboard able to have PWM as speed fan ask for chipset and my mb isn't listed on the site as compatible.

am a novice when it comes to PWM stuff

currently running the fans of a splitter from the cpu fan pin on my motherboard

and suggestions or pointers would be great

Are the splitters 4 pin or 3 pin? Since 3 pin and 4 pin are intercompatible you may have gotten a 3 pin splitter that doesn''t support that. You may also want to try plugging the 3 fans into a fan controller if your case has one (what case do you have?).

if you want your fans to be able to be controlled by the OS then they have to be 4pin fans. If they are not 4pin fans then it won't work. Also, if worst comes to worse, you can get a voltage controller that will let you change the fan speed via a brute force method (I use this for all my case fans except for my radiator)

thanks shadowblade, fans are 4 pins, why i bought them in the 1st place.

thinking that either i've set them up wrong. at the moment got the 3 artic fans diasy chained together then one of them connected to the splitter, and my cpu fan as well, maybe i need to connect all the fans individually the splitter or take out the splitter all together and just daisy chain them as artic suggest's.

will try again later when i am at home and let you all know
