I am new to building computers and want to build me own very soon. I have been doing tons of research but the one thing that bothers me is the motherboard. I don't know what I need or what certain aspects of it are valuable to have or what I don't need. Can someone pick a MB that would be good for gaming? and support USB 3.0 for my case I have picked out?
Here's my build thus far:

Also show me your builds if they're similarly priced I would love to see them as well.
I will be upgrading the GPU later on to a 760 when I get the money. I just want a good foundation to start with,

Hey friend, congrats on your new hobby! (Youre in good company @ Toms)

For your motherboard, the Gigabyte you have listed is perfect for the socket of choice. IMO, best motherboards are ASUS and Gigabyte; with the better value going to the latter.

Only thing I would volunteer, is some criticism ive heard on the FM2 platform (which supports the AMD APUs youve been considering). It's upgrade path is limited compared to AM3, which will support many of the current and upcoming enthusiast chips from AMD (i.e., FX 8350). Dont know your top budget or future plans though. Solution
FM2 is not for gaming.

You don't need a water cooler with that cpu

Try -

CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($69.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($22.99 @ Micro Center)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($49.99 @ Mwave)
Memory: Kingston Fury Red Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory ($80.61 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($50.40 @ Amazon)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 270X 2GB Video Card ($169.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Cooler Master Elite 311 (Silver) ATX Mid Tower Case ($36.70 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: XFX XTR 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $570.66

Then add your peripherals

I was going for more of an AMD build because Intel is more expensive. I would stick with an i5 if anything, not a pentium. That's a pretty cheap motherboard is that a good one? also I would like to stick with my case if I could. Thank you for your help I will look more into air coolers now! Is the water cooler just overkill you think for cooling?

Thank you A LOT friend. I will now look into a FM3 platform MB. Definitely stick with gigabyte or ASUS since you recommended it and I have read other sites that say gigabyte is a quality board too. Top budget is going to be about 800 for now ALL IN including monitor. Do you recommend a certain board that you like?

No worries dude. I think this is a great board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514

If you can, absolutely buy your CPU and motherboard from MicroCenter...BEST deals on CPU/Mobo out there, beats all the online stores too.

Yes, IIRC they do not ship. Either way, an AM3+ board with an 8350 would be a marked improvement: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-FD8350FRHKBOX-FX-8350-FX-Series-Edition/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406653454&sr=8-1&keywords=AMD+8350

It overclocks - http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pentium-g3258-b81-cheap-overclocking,3888.html
