2.5" HDD In Desktop?

I have a broken laptop with a sata 3 HDD that's still good, so I want to put it on my desktop and use it for SteamOS. How would I go about connecting it? I have mounting points for a 2.5" SSD/HDD in my case, but I cannot seem to find any adapters/cables for connecting laptop HDDs.

SATA data and power cables are standard, so they are the same in desktops and laptops. I have been using a 2.5 inch hard drive in my desktop for a while.

    SATA data cable

SATA power cable (there should be some on your power supply) (the black one on the left is the SATA power cable - the picture is actually a MOLEX to SATA power adapter.
  2. So, you just use normal cables as if it was a 3.5" drive?

Yes... SSD's are 2.5 and they use the same cables...its all relative. You could have also simply tried to connect them yourself to verify this..
