ATM I have a dell studio 540 from 2008 to gome on... HAH. Looking to do a little upgrading. I'm looking to keep the dell case and the optical drive since theres nothing wrong with them. I also have a bronze 500watt psu I got when mine original took a shit. So I need a mobo a gpu ram and idk if i should get a new hdd or not. seems like mine runs good but idk if it would cause lag since its so old? its 640gb.

What you think of these

Mobo- GIGABYTE GA-H87M-D3H LGA 1150 Intel H87
cpu- Intel Core i5-4570 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2GHz
ram - G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Not sure what gpu i should get though was thinking about the gtx770 tell me what you think
I play ALOT of garrys mod, some csgo, want to play archeage, the forrest, and the stomping land ext. idc id i cant have EVERYTHING on ultra. all i care is that it looks good runs smoothly and flawlessly and will be bale to handle games for a while into the future. oh and the possibly to run a smooth stream. thoughts? thanks in advance!

Solution
Better HDDs only really help with loading time and won't cuase bad performance. A gtx 770 is overkill for the games you want to play. I would recommend gtx 660. Lastly, if decide to go 770, you will need a new power supply.
I wouldn't bother with the Dell case at this point. Runs hot and it probably has proprietary sized components that a normal ATX motherboard won't fit into.
Everything else seems OK. I'd gt 1866Mhz RAM if you can find it at the same price. The 770 might be a bit too much for the PSU, especially if it's not a Gold rated.

u think the 660 would last me a few years with future games of the same game style? i also have the monitor that came with he computer. wou,d getting a new one help with performance. and u think the 660 would play dayz well?

Your upgrades look fine and for graphics if you don't care about ultra then anything from a 750ti / r7 260x and upwards would be fine (they will play all the games you listed on 1080p / high), get a 270x or gtx 760 I think they're the best for price vs performance right now
