I want to buy a graphic card but I am between two models

R9 290X Vapor X

http://www.amazon.es/Sapphire-Vapor-Tarjeta-gr%C3%A1fica-Express/dp/B00K14AUVY/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1406644005&sr=8-15&keywords=r9+290x

R9 290x Windforce

http://www.amazon.es/Gigabyte-R9-290X-Tarjeta-tarjetas/dp/B00HG7E86W/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1406644005&sr=8-6&keywords=r9+290x

What system is better the Gigabytes Windforce or the Vapor X from Sapphire

I have the windforce and love it, the Vapor-X wasn't around at the time but I would have certainly chose that.

That said, I am pleased with my Windforce 3X OC's cooling ability, temps never go above 80 with a super high overclock done.

Key factor - Is the Vapor worth the price difference, No.

Get the Gigabyte for sure.

290X Tri-X is amazing, about 76c top for me and since Vapor-X is an upgrade of that both on heat and clock, then it will rock even harder.

I'd say take Vapor if it's some long term purchase.

Are both very noisy?

Which is less?

my windforce cools fine when fan speed is below 2600 RPM, and that keeps it very cool. For that price gap, don't even consider the sapphire, grab the last gigabyte model while you can.

I doubt either is noisy enough to bother you. Both are exceptionally well-regarded third-party coolers. There might be a review out there comparing the two side-by-side showing one to be a negligible amount louder than the other, but I sure can't find it.

I will mention that three big fans on the Windforce means those fans can spin slower to move the same amount of air as smaller/fewer fans. So don't fall into the trap of assuming absurdly big fans will be loud, its quite the opposite.

Neither are very noisy, thanks to the nice coolers. Chances are you won't hear them over your CPU/Case fans. I'd imagine the Sapphire is a little quieter, from past experience.

The VAPOR will get you a barely-noticeable performance boost for a big price difference. Get the Tri-X model if you get anything from Sapphire. I've also seen good reviews for the XFX R9 290X 4GB Dual-fan.

Finally, the R9 290 (non-X) isn't MUCH slower than the R290X, if you want to save 20%.

The 290x and ti are gimmicy, and cost a ton more for small performance gains. I do not see a real world value in spending over $100 more for 3-6FPS. The 290x is only ~9% better than the 290, which you can easily OC to. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1068?vs=1056

You can pick up a sapphire TRI-X 290 right now for ~$370.
