What are the best steps to remedy the problem with out any further damage? I just installed the new pump last week and am hoping that I didn't/don't destroy it. I noticed this happened overnight. I haven't had any troubles with this coolant in the past until this.

Hmmm, if it's meant to be good for that period of time, then I would agree with you that there was some sort of reaction. New pump...wondering if there was residual oil from manufacturing of the pump that might have caused this.

To clean, I would empty the loop completely and refill with a distilled water and (maybe) 10-25% vinegar mixture, or just water alone. Make sure this isn't left in the loop longer than 12-24 hrs, drain, then rinse everything well or run another loop of distilled water, only.

My understanding is that some of Mayhem's product line is mainly intended to be used for short term usage and not necessarily a long-term coolant, but instead marketed mainly as trade show or demo use only as these coolants can break down and separate over longer periods of use.

The Pastel line of coolant has been described and tested to be used for 2 years. And I just changed out the coolant about a month ago but I reused the coolant when I put that new pump in about a week ago.

My only guess is that there was a chemical reaction with the metal of the new pump or radiator.

Really wondering what the best way to clean the rad, pump, and blocks would be. If there is something I can flush the loop with.
