Hello! So I'm upgrading my graphics card in a pre-built and know so far that I will have to upgrade my power supply, but is there anything else that I will need to switch out in order to have my new Sapphire R9 270x run at its best?

Also, for any parts I need to change out as well as the power supply I already know about, what part do you recommend? I figure I'll need 500-600w power supply but there are so many prices and available options, I'd really like to find one that will last a long time and won't disappoint.

Replace your PSU. If you tell me your budget for the upgrade, I'll give you the best at your price.

That Phenom II X4 945 is better than the 1st generation Bulldozer FX series, so i don't foresee a bottlenecking issue.

Just upgrade the power supply & you should be fine. Only other thing to check is the dimensions of the case against the dimensions of whichever graphics card your looking to purchase.

Here are some PSU suggestions, they are all good quality:

XFX Pro 650W: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1650snlb...

Do you have any personal experience with any of these brands that might give some insight on the reliability of each product? ^_^

I haven't had the pleasure, i have an almost 4 years old Corsair TX series unit myself ATM, previously used Enermax. These are PSU's i'd be happy to use myself. I hope you find the reviews helpful:
