Ok so i have centos whm/cpanel server running in hyper v. (PC 1)
windows home server (PC 2)

I can connect to my web server via my internal & external ip.
With a test domain i had hosted externally. I made a sub domain test.site.com pointed to my external ip.... I can connect. BUT NO ONE ELSE CAN. (friends / users).

And now i find out a free domain i created for windows home server example.homeserver.com that came free with windows home server setup. I can connect to my webserver (centos) with that link. SO CAN MY FRIEND. (most ports forwarded to webserver). not whs.

Soo my question is how tf is my test domain not connecting.. yet a domain from a different pc connects fine to my webserver. Im so confused.

in whm, i created nameservers ns1.mydomain.com ect. ips point to my external ip.
Registered that at godaddy. been 2 days and site still doesnt work.

the nameservers dont resolve to my ip. so basicly everything works for me / my network. but externally only example.homeserver.com domain from a different pc works.

Where do i even begin to troubleshoot ... All of this is just a hobby / doing for the fun. but really wtf.

Pretty sure not. the webserver is setup for port 80. Even if they do, how would that explain my friend being able to connect through example.homeserver.com?

Update:
I got my domain from godaddy working. when i go to it it properly goes to my webserver, and i can see my test site.
But others cant go to it.
Only way for others to go to it is using the domain from my whs example.homeserver.com.

Any thoughts?
