So ive built a sweet new custom pc , and it maxes everything out like a boss , but ive encountered random crashes with a sound loop at random intervals when gaming , sometimes 10 minutes in sometimes 20 etc, it shows no BSOD , error messages of any sort. It auto restarts just like if someone pulled the power cord then re-insert it. I've checked the event log and under system it shows a warning about the time of crash.

"The description for Event ID 27 from source e1iexpress cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V

the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table"

The source is from e1iexpress , event id 27 , task category :none

This has happened on Skyrim , Titanfall and it seems random , it doesn't happen when I play Watch_Dogs or Dota 2.

Any suggestions and ideas are HIGHLY appreciated , this is driving me nuts!

Sounds like a bad Ethernet driver. Bad Ethernet drivers cause very bizarre crashes without BSODs, even when the Ethernet is not in use. Try updating your Ethernet driver from the manufacturer's website.

Is ethernet driver the lan driver? I've checked the maximus vi extreme support page for all the drivers , and they only have the lan drivers , thanks for lending a hand , it is greatly appreciated!

I downloaded the drivers and installed them , did a reboot and tried titanfall , and it happened again , now it just shows
"Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V
Network link is disconnected."
so i guess things are a tiny weeny bit better than where we started?

Any further suggestions are greatly appreciated , this drives me nuts , i've lost at least 10 matches of titanfall just because of this!
