Ok, I have tried soooooo many ways to get this done, but no matter what i do, it doesn't work. First things first. I have given the people I want to join my PUBLIC IP. I do not want anyone to ask me if I have given them that. Second, I do not want to use hamachi. it doesn't work for Gmod for whatever reason. Third I port forwarded on both my modem and my router, and neither are working. I have a Qwest GT701-WG Modem (I think this may have to do with the problem) and a Netgear WNDR4300 Router. They work perfectly fine to give everyone internet, but I'm not sure if it is conflicting hardware.
I had my cousin, who has successfully port forwarded for the same game, walk me through by sharing screens on skype, but when we finished, it didn't work still.
Anyone know whats up?

I am assuming your setup is like this...

ISP<-->Modem<-->Router<-->Computer with GMOD server.

If so, You need to forward ports 27005 and 27015 from your modem to your router. Then forward the same ports from your router to your computer. Make sure you are forwarding BOTH TCP and UDP.

Let me know if it does not work.

Ok, so I put my modems ip to 192.168.1.1, which is the default gateway, then I put the routers ip to 192.168.1.4 which is my ip, and my brother still couln't connect. My modems firewall is off, and there is an exeption for minecraft in my firewall. Any other ideas?
