You can't run sli any lower than PCIex8. Nvidia's driver will disable sli completely if one of it's graphic card is paired with a PCIex4 or lower slot.
AMD/ATI will allow their graphic card to run regardless of PCIe speed, the difference between PCIex16, PCIex8, and PCIex4 for sli, crossfire is miniscule, perhaps 1 or 2 fps difference at best.

Alright, cool. If I'm going to go through the hassle of buying a new motherboard and installing it then I'll probably switch my CPU over to Intel since I had been planning on doing so. I'll give the Best Solution to whoever can find me a good Z97 motherboard capable of 3-way SLI, 32 GB RAM support, and for a good price lol. Actually, I could just use some opinions on a good Intel motherboard since I've been using AMD for a long time.
