Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and I need a little advice on what would be the best router to boost and extend the WI-FI in my home. I have researched these routers but I am unsure of which one to go with. If there are any experts out there to help me figure this out I would be very grateful. Any other router suggestions are welcome.

Here are the routers I am considering:

1. Linksys EA4500

2. Asus RT-N66U Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router

3. Linksys EA6900-RM SMART WiFi Wireless AC Router AC1900 Dual Band 802.11ac

Thanks in advance. I great appreciate it

Thank you everyone for your replies and your advice. I greatly appreciate it!

Now that I have restructured my research my second question is how will I know which of these routers are compatible with my Arris DG860A? I called Arris and they said they couldn't give me support because the product was proprietary to Time Warner. Of course Time Warner in return could not "give me advice on third party products" so they were useless.

1. NETGEAR R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router (AC1900)

2. ASUS RT-AC68U Dual-band Wireless-AC1900 Gigabit Router

3. ASUS RT-N66U Dark Knight Dual-Band Wireless-N900 Gigabit Router (N900)

What suggestions do any of you have so that I make the right purchase decision? Thank you

Looking at the users guide for the Arris, it looks like it is a router in addition to a cable modem. It also looks like you can set it to Bridge mode http://fearedbliss.wordpress.com/2012/07/07/time-warner-cable-wideband-arris-dg680-bridged-mode-with-linksys-e3000-running-dd-wrt/ -- If you can set it to bridge mode, then any of the routers would be your PRIMARY router and WIFI source.
