Hello guys

My harddrive is making this weird rattling noise (sounds like an idle engine from a car)
Been having this problem for over 1 month with just backing it up and basically tryna ignore it.

PC Specs:
i5 3550
MSI GTX 770
8GB RAM
1 TB HDD TOSHIBA DT01ACA10
ASRock B75M-GL

The annoying sound: (Turn up the volume a bit to hear it)

Hope some of you guys can help me with this.

Thanks in advance,
Septura

Solution
If the drive is making a consistent ticking sound, it needs to be replaced. HDDs have moving parts which make them more susceptible to failure. My advice would be to copy all the vital data onto an external drive or cloud storage ASAP. Once the drive fails, you may not get any of your data back.

Like trekzone said, if the drive is under warranty, simply ask for a new one. Most manufacturers offer a three or five year worldwide warranty.
