Although you will have no issues installing linux on D: partition, be aware of the fact that linux's ext4 partitioning system is not recognized natively from windows, and although your dual-boot will work well, you will not be able to access D: from windows natively.

@Freesd,

Just make sure you understand what we are trying to warn you. During Linux installation, you will see no C:, D: etc. You will see partitions with their names, and you will be asked to select partition where to install Linux. This partition will be lost for Windows, with all the data on it (if any).

Before starting to mess with your computer, read couple of giudes about "Linux and Windows dual-boot". Such a guide is available here as well, as pinned post.
