Hi guys,

So this problem started occuring 2 days ago (about a day after I got my first blue screen error). What basically happens is when I am gaming (I typically play WoW and League of Legends) for 15-20 minutes or so the laptop screen will go black and then 2-3 seconds later the laptop will shut off completely, I will then have to wait 20 seconds before the laptop will turn back on. It ONLY happens when I am playing games, I can browse the internet and watch videos etc without any problems. I have considered a number of issues.

- I thought that maybe it was overheating at first but the laptop wasn't hot to touch. I downloaded a program to check the internal temperatures and the CPU was at 70c and video card at 60c while playing games. I don't think that is hot enough to warrant an automatic shut down, is it?

- I then considered perhaps something was wrong with the thermometer inside the laptop and that it was giving false readings and causing the laptop to shut down when it actually wasn't overheating.

- I tried to enter the BIOS to change the temperature at which it would shut down but I didn't have any luck finding something like that.

- I am now considering that it may be related to my power supply. My laptop is permanently plugged into the power supply as I do not have the battery in it (1. because I never move my laptop. 2. because the battery needs to be replaced as it can only store 10 minutes worth of charge seemingly).

I have read a lot of stuff over the internet which suggest it could be related to overheating, power supply, RAM and so on. I am really quite lost as to how to fix this issue as it is very frustrating to have to deal with.

I should also note that I do open up my laptop every so often, around every 2 months to clean everything inside, mainly to get rid of dust and clean the fans etc. So I know the inside is very clean and is not clogged up with anything.

If anyone could please give me some advice or share your experience and a possible resolution with me I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance.

As of right now I am looking at CPUID HWMonitor (program that tells me the internal temperatures) and while only having Skype and Firefox open with 5 tabs my CPU is at 60c and video card at 49c.

EDIT: Was just playing League of Legends, after 10 minutes of being in the game my laptop screen turned black and turned as described in my original post. Prio to that I had been browsing the internet and chatting on Skype without any problems.
