My current CPU is an AMD APU (A8 3870k @ 3.6GHz) will I see a tangible performance benefit if I upgrade to the Pentium K and OC it to a minimum of 4.3GHz (G3258 or something) and will that CPU hinder my GTX 760 in gameing or should I just go for an i3? Any help would be appreciated :)

Tom's recent article has some numbers you can look at:

Hard to say. Depends on how much you want to spend. Looks like you can get a board and the chip for under $120, and you should already have Ram that will work.

If you have more to spend, a low-tier i5 or the full blown i5 K series is the 'best' for gaming. Plenty of better chips, but then you really start running into costs.
