I have an old laptop that I ONLY need Windows 3.11 because my software runs in DOS but won't run on Windows higher than 95. I've had this to several places and my software won't run on virtual something or other:) ...sorry I don't know what all is called. All I know is that I have to run it this way. I only use DOS but I have a new computer that I need to access the Win 3.11 so that I can setup the slots or internal modem. I need a second serial port and can use a pcmcia card for that. Windows shows that it's on the computer but I can't get it to come up! I had the shop set it to come up at DOS prompt. I have another computer setup like this and I can still access windows. Any ideas? thanks....

Can you boot your laptop to DOS at all? What DOS version are you using?
If you can boot it to C:\ prompt - just reinstall Win3.11 (six or seven floppies, don't remember), and then install your application.

Download a portable win 3.11 vhd and extrack all of its files to a computer. Then replace the files on DOS laptop with the new ones. Works perfectly
