I'm trying to put linux onto a flash drive to put it onto a computer that I'm building. I downloaded ubuntu, and when I try to open it, I get this error message. Can I just put the file straight onto my flash drive and then it will run on my new computer, or do I need to do anything with it here to make this work?

You should be able to just put it straight onto the flash drive.

it's a .iso file, rather than a collection of a bunch of files. that will still run when i try to boot off the flash drive?
