So my current headset, the Razer Megalodon has been with me for about 2 years now. I noticed its infamous microphone only about a year ago and having it with me made me frustrated. All my friends would complain in my skype call that my mic had too much static that it was either bursting their ear drums or my voice was drowned out. The left ear cuff is also being help up by tape because the clips broke off lol. I have new ear piercings too and the cuff is too small to fit my whole ear.

There is a local computer store that is selling the Siberia V2 at a discounted price. I was looking around for reviews, and most importantly microphone tests. Some of them were somewhat static-y and some were clear.

My current PC is using the onboard sound card and I'm not entirely sure if that will affect the Siberia microphone quality if I bought it. The Razer Megalodon apparantly has its own sound card but it kinda sucks.
Any advice would be appreciated. If Siberia is considered a bad choice, what would you recommend? My budget is $70.

The Siberia V2 is a great headset, I would highly recommend it. Gaming headsets are very rarely limited by onboard audio, so I wouldn't worry about that, but there is a USB variation of the Siberia V2.
