Hey guys, I made a pretty big booboo this time. I recently purchased 2 R9 290x's with the intention of water cooling them. I used two universal blocks and everything was running smoothly up until one of my VRM heatsink fell off. Because I ran out of heat conductive tape I used thermal paste and a non conductive zip tie. The problem is that the heatsink moved and shorted with another component on my 290x. The gpu was working for a bit but then pooped out. Are there any capacitors I can replace to fix this problem or any DIY Solutions? I don't want to try and return it to sapphire yet because I'd run the chance of getting caught with removing the stock cooler. Any suggestions? Maybe I didn't fry it and something else isn't working? If I do have to return it any tips on making it look like stock cooler never came off?

Specs are

I5 4670k
Asus h87-a
Evga 1300w psu
Sapphire r9 290x (2)

Thank you all I do appreciate your time.

a short will probably mess up the entire circuit and a capacitor replacement is impossible... Unless you get the exact same down-to-the-detail capacitor to replace the fried one.
