I got a gaming pc and here are a few of the specifications.

EVGA Intel X58 SLI 3 Motherboard
i7-960 3.20GHZ
Nvidia GeForce GTX 570
12GB DDR3/1600MHZ RAM

The graphics card, however seems to be acting up. The fans start out spinning very slowly and sometimes even stop spinning and when I put the DVI cable into the moniter, it goes to sleep and flashes and when I unplug it, it says check video cable. So the tv senses something. But it also says there is no signal. Please help :/  everything else works fine..

it may be that the gpu is reaching it's end. try spinning the fan manually (while the pc is off), see if it spins easily. better start saving up

Hmmm, fairly old card. Is it still under warranty? Tell me the power supply name and model. Seems like maybe a bad cooler. The gpu may be fried. Have you ever touched the pcb and felt a shock? Can you boot at all? Try using another display cable.

Also, try dusting it off with compressed air, and maybe replacing the thermal paste, although might as well put that money into a gtx 760 or something.

How long have you had this pc? Seems like the gpu lived a fairly long almost 4 year life. Gpu's tend to die around this age. It released January 2011, no?

Hey guys, well, the fans can be moved with ease. And I got this on craigslist. Before you flame me, the guy did seem trustworthy. My brothers all build their own pcs witj success and said this was a good deal. I have not been able to get any video yet.

I am also new to this site and don't know how to reply to specific answers.

Is it under warranty? Remove the graphics card and plug in the tv to the motherboard. The 960 has intel hd graphics. If it works, gpu is the problem. If not, something else is dead. Even ebay would have some sort of return policy. How much did you get it for?

Are you sure it doesn't have any ports for output? Maybe the old bloomfield didn't. Hmm, can you borrow a gpu from anybody? Even a gt 610 would be more than enough. It really just sounds like a dead/dying gpu to me. How long ago did you get it? Sorry man, seems like it's dead. Start saving up? Can you maybe give the guy a call and let him know?

He won't respond of course. I'll see if I can use my brothers GPU or something. Like I said, everything else seems to be working fine as of now.

I bought the whole pc used... I put my brothers working GeForce 650 in every psi slot to no avail... if I need a new GPU and motherboard I may cry. I am extremely sad right now. I bought this the other day and saved up so much for it and now im screwed... I bought it for $500, granted it is a $2000 pc, still, I feel sick. I was so pumped...

Ugh... Dude, sorry. This may not only be a motherboard gpu issue.... Does it turn on at all? Take the gpu to your brothers pc and see if it works in there. If you can boot at all, it is not motherboard, cpu, or ram. You could've saved up 700$ and bought a very decent gaming pc. Take off the heatsink and look at the cpu. Is it okay?

Possible issues:

The power supply! What power supply. This whole thing might be caused by a dead psu. If the wattage and efficeny is too low, it is likley the power supply. What power supply. Take it out, and take a paper clip and short together the green wire with any of the black wires, then plug it in. This will let you know wheter the psu is bad. Sound like it.

Also, take a picture of the whole pc and post it on imgur. Could be simple as something not plugged in.

Is the GPU purposely not plugged in??? Plug it in! No wonder. Also, in the top left is the cpu power plugged in? 8 pin connector

PCbuilder, that isnt the issue, I just forgot to plug it in for the pic, and now the GPU wont go in the PCI all the way for some reason... I cant screw it down because it's too high up and I dont know why.

I also dont know what 8 things for the cpu you're speaking of :$

Hmm... Just make sure everything is plugged in. Does the pc boot at all? Get any display? Could be a large number of things

Unplug everything and use a paper clip on the 24 pin connector to connect the green and black plugs

Dude, you might just replace parts and end up finding up something else is dead. A new system may be the best bet.
