Hi,

My Powercolor HD5670 died on me so I'm looking for a replacement that can also work with latest rigs in the market.

I'm planning to replace everything 2 months from now, just saving at the moment.

I'm worried that if I buy the GT 740, it might not work on my current build.

Here's my spec:
processor: Dual-Core CPU E5400 2.70Ghz
mobo: ASRock G31M-S
ram: 2gb ddr2 (can't go up higher since my other slot's broken)
hdd: 300gb
psu: 500w generic

Any suggestions please?

At 1280 x 720.

I'm actually playing Swordsman Online which has the ff system requirements:
Operating System: Windows® XP, Vista, 7, or 8
CPU: Intel® Pentium® 4 2.0 GHz and above
RAM: 2 GB (3 GB or more recommended for Vista/7/8)
Hard Disk: 8 GB Free Space
Graphic Display: DirectX 9.0c level GPU (Geforce 9800GT or newer) with 1GB Video RAM or more
Sound Drivers: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
Network: Broadband Internet connection (512kb download speed or more)

But of course, I want to get a good gfx card that could also handle upcoming games.

GT 740 is cheaper here in PH so I'll prolly get it.

I'm just worried that it might not work on the rig I'll buy later on (still thinking if I should get AMD FX6300 or Pentium 3.0ghz Haswell)

Thank you very much for your reply @sourodip!
