how to reinstall windows 7 home basic in hp notebook

My father gifted me a hp notebook G42 and i was so excited that i couldn't keep it away i installed many useful apps and it was perfect... but slowly it became slow..... And later when i started my laptop the taskbar became grey in color and i think it turned into windows 6.1... And so i restarted it and tried to connect to the internet it showed some internal error

I restarted my notebook wer it showed please insert your windows insatallation disc and restatrt your computer - choose your language settings and click next - click repair your computer...

i dont know how to reinstall it
can you pls send screenshots of the steps

First of all, there is no Windows 6.1. Secondly, it sounds like you have a virus or malware infection. Third, do you have a Windows 7 installation disc or is there a recovery partition? You can see if there is a recovery partition by opening windows explorer and looking at the drives listed on the left. If you have one there should be a drive named "Recovery" or something similar.
