Hi Everyone,

I am currently building my first custom Water cooled PC. With all my research I am comfortable with the build/design and all parts should be here ready for that part this or next week.. However...

When it comes to fan management I really have no idea what I am doing or need to get for all the fans I will be running. So here is my setup:

1 Rad with 2 x Push and 2 x Pull Fans
1 Rad with 3 x Push Fans
1 x Case fan

If it makes a difference all Rad fans are Noiseblocker PK2's and unsure of what case fan I will run just yet but not too worried about this.

So I think that means I need to run 3 banks... So... That I think means a management system plus 1 x splitter for each bank? I have no idea despite my research what items I need to purchase and then how to manage them once I boot the PC.

I have already spent lots so don't mind making sure I do this part right, but I would prefer a simple, set and forget type option (although I will be OC'ing so obviously will need to make some adjustments).

My water loop at the moment will only have 1 D5 pump with only manual speed control. Will probably have to upgrade to a second pump and my research says manual speed control is all you need but if you disagree and think I should incorporate a management system with pump control, please let me know.

I would really appreciate specific items you think i will require if you have that time.

Thanking you in advance for your time.

Joel

You've got a lot of rad there, what components are you cooling?
A single D5 Vario will work just fine for the system, a second would only serve as redundancy (some increase in head pressure also).
I personally don't mess with my fan speeds so I use power distributors for fans like the Phobya 4-Pin Power Distribution PCB 6x 3-Pin Block which is quite small and unobtrusive but it does run the fans at full speed

Yeah I decided to go a "little" overkill as am really going all out doing the interior of my PC so finishing everything now was the most exciting solution for me!

Running a block on the i7 4790k, a block on the RAM and 1xGPU block but adding a second GPU and block to the loop in a couple of months with option for a third later down the track when prices really drop. But by that stage it will prob just be better to invest in the latest single GPU anyhow. I haven't finalised the motherboard choice yet but may cool the board also depending on what I get.

Thanks for the link, check that out

Thats the sort of thing I think I need but do i need one for each bank/rad set? And I definitely dont want to run my fans at full speed though, i have chosen the fans and rads for low flow cooling to keep it silent!

Nope, forum section is fine, tags too

As your fans are 3 pin you can use this http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14661/ele-987/3-Pin_P... for the 3 push fans, and this http://www.frozencpu.com/products/14662/ele-988/3-Pin_P... for the 4p/p fans to control them of your motherboard fan headers (you'll need a male-female 3pin to use those adapters)

You could also use a decent fan controller and use the phobya from above to manage the fans

Thanks Hypergon,

That has been a huge help!
