i wiill probably upgrade my gpu in a year or two although im very happy with my Gigabyte R9 270X WindForce3 2G GDDR5 so far (almost 200 fps in mw3 and mw1 and 120 steady fps in BF3) but i want to know whats the best gpu my cpu, psu and cpu can support.
if i recall correctly the I5 cpu is pretty good and can support some high end cards, but i have only 520w psu.
my specs:
Intel I5 4590 3.3Ghz + Arctic Alpine 11 Rev.2
Gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H
Kingston 8G (2x4G) Hyper-X DDR3 1600Mhz
Seagate 1T Barracuda Sata3 7200RPM
Gigabyte R9 270X WindForce3 2G GDDR5
CoolerMaster 311
Seasonic 520W PFC 80+ 2xPCI-E.
i was thinking r9 280x or gtx 780/770/760(although arent the 770/760 similiar in performance compared to the 270x?), my knowledge in computing (other than some knowledge in CPUs and GPUs) is limited so if my specs cant even remotly support those cards dont rub it in, lol.

With 520W, R9 270x is the best you can get.
R9 280x can still fit but your PSU will run near from full load with R9 280x, which is not really recommendable for long term.

And whatever you get has to fit in your case

You can probably go with a 280 if my knowledge serves me correctly as you have a seasonic PSU which are good quality. And you're not OCing either so you probably can. Basing this off the fact that you can get a 280 and run an fx cpu OCed on a 550w xfx PSU

im pretty happy with the 270x so far, 60+ fps in all the games ive played so far.
if i were to get a new PSU would that be possible with my motherboard and cpu or do i need more adjusting?

As long as it fits in your case and the power supply will run it then your cpu will be fine.

Jumping from 270x to 280 (not 280x) is not really worth it.

Just leave your system alone for now and save your money for future GPU generation (Budget for PSU upgrade should be included too).

From a 270x to a GTX780ti or R9 290x is worth it.

Upgrade the PSU too.
