Extremely Disappointed with Gaming PC

Ever since I bought the parts for this PC and did my first build, it has brought nothing but disappointment to me. In almost every game I try, except for older games, I can never manage to achieve a stable 60 fps or higher. Everytime I fight big mobs, look in the open world, go into towns, my fps drops to like the 30's. Lowering the settings makes it better but that's not the point, I built this pc to game on good settings and it can't even do that without fps drops to 30's. Is there something wrong with it? I keep thinking my cpu is absolute garbage and that I should have went with intel, amd is just pure garbage when it comes to CPU's imo if that is even the problem.

Here are my specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qZjygs

I have vsync on since my monitor is 60 hz otherwise I get horrible screen tears.

I also have latest video card drivers too.

Games I have tried: TERA, Firefall, Defiance, Diablo 3 (big mobs causes drops), Planetside 2, etc.

The only game it seems to do good in is League of Legends and it stays at constant 60 even in fights. But that game is designed to even run good on laptops...

The total came to about 1.1k with OS and monitor after I ordered everything and tax. Pcpartpicker had some prices which weren't right and I had to order off other places which caused it to come to that total.

Anyways, is there something I am doing wrong or anything I can do or does my pc just plain out suck and I got ripped off?

Thanks...

Also: My temps and everything seem to be fine, I checked with MSI afterburner and when gaming temps were around 50-60 degrees C, and gpu usage varied on the game tested on. So everything appears to be normal. And I'm not OC'ing or anything as I don't have a CPU cooler except for my stock. I just keep the fx 6300 at stock speeds.

Man, I just want to go into a corner and cry lol, all I wanted was a gaming pc and all I get is fps problems..

EDIT:

Video I just took showing my problem:

Game is Defiance on maxed settings.

EDIT: 2

Just two questions I'm kind of OCD about ever since I built my pc several months back:

-On my first install of Windows 8.1 64 bit, when I first put in the disc, the install like crashed with an error or idk if it was a blue screen or something but when I ran the installation again, everything was fine and Windows 8.1 64bit was installed.

-Some wires were kind of sticking out of the sides of the case, the big thick PSU cables, when I finished the build so I kind of had to force the case panels a little in order to close the case. Due to this, the case panels are a little popped out, just a very little bit due to it pushing against the psu cables, but I don't think its putting that much force on the cables, if any force at all, because what is mostly making the case pop out is this little rubber circle thing on the side of the case, I don't know what its for but its sort of glued onto the case. Nonetheless, if say it was pushing a little on the big, thick PSU cables, the PSU cables are sturdy enough to handle a very small bit of force right?

Pictures of small popped out parts of case:

From these two questions, could any of these potentially be causing fps problems or more specifically drops to 30's 20's in huge fights? Or should I just ignore them since my benchmarks proved my pc to be good and even better than some people's builds with the same components as me, and also that my cpu/gpu temps, gpu usage, etc. all look ok due to tests with msi afterburner and other programs?

First off, the PC part picker says: Compatibility Notes
Unable to verify the Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case and has sufficient space to fit the Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card. But since you said the PC is ok, then the drivers can be the problem. Did you install the newest drivers for your AMD graphics? Don't use the ones on the CD though, because they are old. Maybe some components are faulty, but unlikely. Check that you put everything on your motherboard correctly. And if you OC-ed, turn the clocks to default. FX-6300 is very good for its price and its perforamance is great, so you shouldn't have slowdowns.

Yes I mentioned that I do have the latest video card drivers, and everything seems to be fine, given my temp test on msi afterburner and everything, I don't think I installed anything wrong because the pc is working and stuff. I also put in a quick edit which I don't think you saw in time where I said I did not OC.

Hmm, I always thought it was my cpu but if you say I should be getting no slowdowns, do you have any games that you can mention to me that I can try and report back with my results?

In firefall, I tried max but I couldn't run it at 60 fps, however, even on medium settings I notice the fps drops. Defiance is the same case, and Planetside 2 I need to lower the settings by a lot.

But in the least, is there any game I can expect to run well at 60 fps max? When building this system I told people on this forum that I don't really want bf4 max settings all that stuff, just to be able to max mmorpgs since I like those types of games, but as you heard, I struggle with fps problems on mmorpgs as well even though people told me this system is more than enough to max at solid 60 fps for mmorpgs.

That is a good idea, can you give me a direct link to the download please because there are multiple ones? I'm new to these benchmarking programs and stuff haha.

Also, does this test both cpu and gpu combo? Because if its only gpu then I can't figure out if my problem is the CPU

A 7870 is around the same as an R9 270X (within 10%) so it should be capable every game in existence at max settings or max w/out AA, maybe an extra setting dropped since it's not as good as a 270X. I run every game on max or w/out AA smoothly. I get around 5500 in 3DMark Firestrike so you could test your GPU to see if it gets around 5000.

Ok, I will do that, but I'm thinking the problem may be my CPU? Does the 3d mark test out CPU too? Because if its only GPU then I won't know if my problem is CPU.

I don't think there is a bottleneck as peopel told me there shouldn't be. But anyways, I'll run the test and that will explain everything.

Just regular 3d Mark and it tests entire systems so every component affects your scores.
I honestly dont expect your score to be bad compared to others its just your playing rather cpu intensive games on an older not that hot cpu. We should know after the benchmark

Ok, I ran the bechmark called firestrike:

Here are my results: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3669229?

My overall score is 5026 I believe. In that link it says graphics driver is not approved, but I think that's due to me using the latest BETA drivers from amd.

Througout the test my fps was terrible lol, so idk if I did ok or not from my score.

3D Mark Firestrike is a ridiculously demanding benchmark. My PC only gets like 13fps in it combined. One other benchmark you could try is Sky Diver which is new. Your score should be above 10-11000. My PC gets over 12000 and the combined test gives me average 72 fps.

Ok, cool, I'll try that too. So is there nothing wrong with my pc then internally? Or maybe its just that the game I play are too cpu intensive like James said? If so, do you have any games you can recommend to me that I can try as a test which should run well on my system maxed with no fps drops?

Skydiver score: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/3669328?

Did you look at the "show result details" tab? ypu are above average in score for people with your system. Also did you notice the achievement next to it saying your gpu is good but your cpu is not?

Your setup is working properly, its just not as good of a setup as you wanted it to be

Oh, I see. So basically, I won't be able to max out any games really with solid 60 fps? And if I can, can you recommend me some I can try and test out please?

Hmm, let me reword my question, I was saying if there are any other good mmo's to try out and get into and see if they run any better than the games I currently play on my pc.

If you like Korean MMO's try AION

Otherwise:
Archeage (havent played it, but understand its really pretty lol)
Guild Wars 2 (heavily western and easy, no gear ladder)

And speaking of MMO's, i wish i could slap the execs over at CCP Games for canceling 'World of Darkness' was supposed to be an epic MMO based on the Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines

Ah ok, can't help you there unfortunately, I'm not really into MMOs. I used to play runescape quite a bit but that's the only one I've tried haha
