I opened up my computer to clean out the dust buildup and after putting it back together there was no display on my screen. I removed my Radeon HD 5770 video card to clean it but in the process broke the little plastic lever on the PCI Express slot. I don't think that should affect anything. I've tested my monitor with a laptop and it was working fine so that's ruled out as the problem.
I also made sure the video card was connected to the 6-pin power cord. I tried using a different DVI cable and still no display so no faulty cable there. The video card seems to operate fine since the fan spins. I'm also sure it's positioned correctly in the slot since it's secured with two screws and level with the mobo.
Everything else seems to be in order, CPU fan spins, normal hardware startup sounds, but I can't verify if the computer is booting without the display. Will try another video card tomorrow but any thoughts on what might have happened? I open up my case plenty of times so it's strange for this to be happening.
