Monitor interference problems

My new Zalman Z11 Plus Midi Tower PC case seems to be causing horizontal lines to appear on my monitor. Either its the case or I did something wrong when installing the components. I've tried swapping the output from my graphics card to a DVI-VGA adapter, re-seating the graphics card and adjusting the phase on my monitor. Horizontal lines are moving constantly and are most apparent on greyish backgrounds e.g Steam. Any Ideas what might be causing this? Could it be the fans causing interference since my old case had no fans at all (Small stock case) and never had this problem?

I don't see how your case should be the cause at all, it's only a box where you can mount your components in, it doesn't have much to do with the components other than the front buttons and USB inputs, neither the fans too.

It's probably your gpu where something's wrong, when installing components you might have broken the card, not by hitting it against something physically, but by sending an electric pulse like when you touch something with your hand an it gives you a little shock of electricity.

English isn't my native language so sorry if that was a bit blurred, but im pretty certain your GPU is broken after install.

The thing is the Graphics card is working fine. It hasn't stopped working I just have a sort of interference on the screen, similar to if you stuck a fan next to a cathode ray monitor. I made sure to wear an anti static wrist band and place each component in an anti static bag when swapping so it couldnt have been static.

Are there any metallic devices next to your monitor? Like speakers, anvils? ;) If you remove your case further away from your screen, does that make it better? In my experience, the problem is actually in the screen, not in the PC (although the PC can cause the screen to flip out).

Yeah like Xtinction said, it could also be the screen.

It's either the screen, the cable or the GPU.
The GPU could give you a broken image and still be running, it's not only either dead or totally fine, i had a card that made a wierd picture with artifacts, i RMA'd the card and it fixed my problem.

Im starting to think it might just be the cable, it might be that one of the pins became dislodged as I removed it as when I use the HDMI cable to my TV there is no flickering lines

Well I guess that's a very cheap fix if it is the problem, do you have a replacement cable to test that theory with? My guess is that the cable is not the issue, but I may be wrong. The reason I think this is that cable issues, especially digital cables like DVI and HDMI usually just work or dont work. But like I said it's defo worth a shot!
