Any ideas...
My computer is not displaying the colour red. I have changed the monitor and reinserted the lead and it remains the same. It is operating windows 7 and have followed trouble shooting instructions to no avail.

Solution
If it's a VGA cable and tightening the screws doesn't work, your cable may be damaged. I've had that happen to a couple cables and sometimes you can remedy it by positioning the cable at a certain angle.

Make sure all the pins are set. And it would help to know if you are using either VGA, DVI, HDMI, or a Display port with one of those cables. Also check to see inside the drivers, or program. Depending whether you have a AMD, Invidia or Intel graphics chip, you can change the color saturation etc.

It is a VGA cable, it was working fine i left it for half hour came back and the red was no longer working. Unfortunately I am not very computer literate hence asking here.

Make sure its screwed all the way in. I can't tell you how many times ive just pushed it on and it came up with funky colors till i screwed it in. Go to your video card drivers and find the color balance for graphics chip
