Oh for crying out loud, cooler master hyper 212 evo, how many more times are we going through this? It almost seems like every week is the same question that warrants the same answer.

I'd say there are currently about 15 topics on the front page where the answer is 212 evo.

Yeah, the Hyper 212 EVO is an excellent cooler that is simply unbeatable at it's price point. People just get frustrated because it is such an obvious choice.

Hope that helps :)

However if you refuse to conform, then there's always the thermaltake NiC-4...

I reckon that'd be one simple answer, albeit a really hateful way of suggesting folks do a little research prior to asking others.

But, for sure, his ain't the only choice out there ... with coupons + rebates, you can ultimately get more for less, if budget is your primary concern.

And, for that matter? Which solution is best for you may depend upon other factors. For example, the Cooler Master 212 Evo might be a choice for somebody else, but I'd have to take a grinder to the side of my case (and probably my first stick of memory as well ~;-)

::edit::
Not saying that their smaller TX3 model is the better choice for anybody else, but it should be plenty capable of handling a moderately overclocked G3258, and it's currently available at newegg for what works out to $16.98 + one stamp, after takin' $10 off, and receiving your $5 rebate.

I'd take the Scythe Kotetsu over the Hyper 212:
http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1391-page6.html
Looking at the table, the Kotetsu is consistently a few degrees better than the 212 under the same SPL. At 12dBA, it's a dramatic 11C better.

The Kotetsu is also the same price as the Evo 212, at least where I live.

Sometimes the most obvious answer isn't the best, apparently. ;)
