The CX 600w would do the job, but many will agree that it's a fairly mediocre PSU. Base-line hardware from Corsair.

Though, I see no reason why the XFX 550w core wouldn't work with a Haswell.

Everything is compatible, but you're cutting things close with that power supply. 500w for an unlocked CPU i'm assuming you plan to OC, paired with a r9 280? Bit too close for comfort.

I recommend this PSU. Made by SeaSonic, branded by XFX, good price, and good wattage. Good amps, too.

Also, the motherboard WILL allow for a small OC...but not much of one. I recommend a different chipset. The MSI Z87-G45 would be a good choice.

yeah but in my country it's a little more tricky... the store's dont have all the different psu's and mobo's etc. i had chosen the xfx 550w core edition.. but it wasnt compatible with haswell cpu's apparently. Would the Corsair CX 600 W Modular psu do the job?
