I have been saddled with a search engine which I do not want and do not know how I got it. I have tried to get rid of it but every time i open the internet there it is. I have searched the internet for a solution and found the they are all claiming to cure the problem as long as I their software. I have downloaded a few but each time they find hundreds of faults and say if I pay to register they will cure all my problems.
The search engine is websearches.com and it looks like any other page. All the site say that this a hacking engine and i must get rid of it as soon as possible as long as I use their software.
A: is this site dangerous
B: how do I get it off my pc.
Many thanks

You probably had malware, and now that you downloaded all of that software to "fix" the problem you definatlly have malware. Those programs claiming you have hundreds of infections but will fix it for the low low cost of ___ are malware (those varients are classified as rouge antivirus while the one that messed up your search is a browser hijacker).

You need to download and run malwarebytes to clear it all out, and then you will most likley have to go into your web browsers settings and delete the plugins and set your search provider back.

From now on when your computer has an issue you need to search more at how to change settings to fix the problem not a program with a "fix it all for me" button because the vast majoridy of those you will find are in fact malware and other infections.
