Am I going to need a 1440p monitor? If so what one is the best bang for my buck?

So I just got a new PC for recording gaming. And I was wondering If I am going to need a 1440p monitor in order to record at 1440p? I have a 1080p acer right now but i planned on upgrading to 2 1080p Asus's. I know my PC can handle recording 1440p I've got a i7 4790k 8gb of ram I plan on going up to 16gb though and I have a r9 290. So I know the machine can handle what I want do, I just don't know if I need a 1440p monitor so I can get the best quality possible for 1440p recordings.

You will only notice the difference in games/recording if you hit more than 60fps in games, if you bought a 1440p and your games got higher than 60fps, then you would see a difference between a 1080p monitor and a 1440p monitor

Okay thanks for the help. I think I'll just wait until a price drop to go full 1440p
