I am going to upgrade my PC soon and was wondering if it would bottleneck with an FX-6300 and 2 MSI R9 270x's because my motherboard has 2 x16 slots, but one is running on x4 (Gigabyte 970A-D3P). Also plan on overclocking but is it good to overclock on a 970 board or should I get another board thats a 990?

Solution
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16
1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x4

Doesn't run true crossfire , one lane is x16 other is x4.

That board isn't good for overclocking.

Yes, i think you will. And for OC, you'll be better with a 990X or 990FX.

If you're still planing to buy hardware, don't go with the AM3+ platform. I'm an AMD fan, but the AM3+ platform is a dead one. You should go with FM2+ or LGA1150, both have good budget parts.

For optimum crossfire, go with Intel this time and a motherboard that supports at least 16x+8x PCI-Ex 3.0. The lower Haswel Core i5 will be Ok.
